Welcome to our GSL World Tournament East being held this coming weekend in Salisbury, Maryland!


Bob, Carol, and I are excited to welcome this event back to this top-notch facility again this year.

Here are some items for teams:


Check-in: We will be doing check-in and bat testing on Friday night at the Complex at 7:00 PM lasting until 8:30 PM. It is highly recommended that teams take advantage of this to avoid a long line on Saturday morning. Teams should bring the bats as a team to check-in. Teams can do a portion of their bats on Friday and the rest on Saturday. You can test a maximum of 25 bats and/or pass a maximum of 20 total bats. ?There is a Home Run derby going on Friday night. ?We think it will be a fun environment. ?


Managers Meeting: We will have a manager meeting also on Friday night at the Complex at 7:30 PM. It is not mandatory, but we are asking each team to send a representative.


Bats: all bats should be the USSSA stamp (240) for this weekend and should be compliant for tournament play.


Roster: all players need to be on your team's online roster. There will be no exceptions, guest players, or any such reason for players not to be online. Players should also be in the eligible column with completed waivers to play.


* Any players who play in the GSL D Worlds may not be moved to an E team for the following week's tournament. *


Rules: we will be following all book rules of GSL play for this tournament. All classes will have a Designated Home Run hitter. Courtesy runners are anyone on the online roster. All players are permitted double entry, please note that starting the game is your first entry.


Uniforms: teams must have matched or extremely similar tops for this weekend. Please note: the National Slow-Pitch Committee has removed the rule that was in place from years where teams would be designated as home team if the opponent did not completely match.
The rule will be the same as our USSSA World Tournaments in Viera. You must be matching or extremely similar to play.
Uniforms are not protest-able but if asked, players must conform to the correct uniform, or they may not play.


Protests: any in-game protest requires $100 cash in the hand of the umpire to lodge said protest. If the protest is successful, the money will be returned. You must protest a rule item before the next pitch is thrown. We cannot be called to the field to discuss something that happened the inning before or a few batters before.


Bracket: registration closes today, and we are looking to post the bracket tomorrow morning, Tuesday.


The GSL World Tournament portion of the event is straight double elimination in all brackets. ?In the Women's D division we are doing a drop-down single elimination flight. ?In the Men's D we have some field space on Sunday afternoon and we are looking at putting something together for teams eliminated Saturday night. ?More information will be sent during the week. ?



Entry fee: $475 is the tournament entry fee Teams need to pay online through their team manager account prior to Tuesday evening, or Venmo to Carol Holland, unless they have a Paid Berth through a Director.



This covers all umpire fees and also includes the balls for the entire event.
Balls are included, but teams must retrieve foul and HR Balls or purchase more.
There will also be a $15 gate fee for each car (not each person) on Saturday only at the Complex.? Note: you will get a ticket for several raffle prizes to be drawn throughout the weekend from this cost.? ?

Managers,

We are very excited for the GSL World Tournament next week in Salisbury MD!

A few things. Managers for this event you need to pay up front. We prefer you log in and pay online by credit card. However, you also have the option to Venmo Carol at @North-Atlantic-14 with the last four digits 1304.

We will be bat testing. Please note. Bats must have the stickers stripped off. We will not test bats with stickers all over them. Also, if the bats have tar or sticky substance up the barrel we also will not be testing them.

Manager meeting and optional bat testing will be on Friday night and a HR derby is being planned also.

**More information will be sent to you next week.**

Women's C and D teams. We will not be starting these divisions on Saturday until after 12pm. You may be able to just get room or lodging for one night.

We will be looking to cut the entries off on Monday morning and post game times on Monday evening or Tuesday if we are able to.
